The OSCAL TIGER 13 is making waves in the budget smartphone segment with an attractive price tag of $140. What makes this device stand out is its feature-packed offering that rivals smartphones priced much higher. Equipped with 24GB RAM (8GB physical + 16GB virtual expansion), 256GB storage, and 5G connectivity, this phone targets who demand both performance and affordability.

    What do you get?

The TIGER 13 sports a 6.67-inch IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate, giving it a modern feel, and is lightweight at 200g. Available in Hurricane Black and Violet Blue, the back of the phone has a StarFlare finish that adds a youthful and energetic vibe. Despite the plastic body, it feels sturdy, and there are no creaks or loose parts when held.

With a thin profile of 8.65mm, it’s comfortable to hold, and the inclusion of practical accessories like a Type-C cable, screen protector, and case right out of the box adds great value.

OSCAL TIGER 13: A Budget Phone with 5G and High-End Features

The heart of the TIGER 13 is its Unisoc T760 octa-core processor. Coupled with 24GB RAM, this phone handles multitasking with ease, whether you’re using social media, playing games, or switching between multiple apps. What stands out is the seamless performance with 5G connectivity, especially in this price range. The internal storage of 256GB is more than enough for most users, and if that’s not enough, you can expand it up to 2TB with a microSD card!

Running on Android 14 with the DokeOS 4.0 skin, the OSCAL TIGER 13 offers a smooth and customizable experience. You can tweak the interface to suit your preferences, and it comes with a range of privacy and performance features aimed at younger users.

One of the key highlights is the 6.67-inch display. While it’s an IPS panel with a resolution of 720×1600, the 90Hz refresh rate ensures smoother scrolling and a better viewing experience. It’s not the sharpest display in its class, but it’s more than adequate for watching videos, browsing, and gaming. The dual stereo speakers add an extra layer of immersion when watching videos or playing music.

For photography enthusiasts, the OSCAL TIGER 13 packs a 50MP Samsung main camera. The AI-enhanced camera uses 4-in-1 Pixel Binning and Double Super-PD technology to deliver sharp, detailed images, even in low-light conditions.

There’s also a 2MP macro camera for close-up shots and an 8MP front camera with a face fill light, making selfies look better, even in dim environments. With Google Photo’s AI editing tools like magic eraser and portrait lighting, post-processing becomes effortless.

However, when compared to more premium models like the Samsung Galaxy A54, the color accuracy falls short. The photos from the front camera on the TIGER 13 can sometimes appear washed out, requiring some tweaking for better skin tones.

The phone is powered by a 5000mAh battery, ensuring all-day performance with regular usage. Charging is decent with 18W fast charging, but don’t expect anything ultra-fast—going from 0 to 100% takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

    Final Thoughts

When compared to other phones in this price range, like the Samsung Galaxy A05 or Motorola E13, the TIGER 13 outshines them both, scoring almost double in performance benchmarks. In the Geekbench test, it achieved a score of 3230, which is significantly better than the competition in the sub-$150 category.

While the Samsung Galaxy A54 does offer better color reproduction and 60fps video recording, it’s also priced higher. For $140, the OSCAL TIGER 13 gives you a near-flagship experience without breaking the bank

So, The OSCAL TIGER 13 is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a budget smartphone with 5G support, solid performance, and a versatile camera system. For $140, this device is hard to beat, offering features that are usually reserved for phones in the $300 range. If you’re in the market for an affordable yet powerful smartphone, especially during its promotional pricing, the TIGER 13 should definitely be on your radar.
